Horizons at Monroe Community College (MCC)
MCC has partnered with the Horizons National Student Enrichment program to offer a six-week, academic enrichment program for children in the Rochester City School District in grades K-4. Horizons at MCC aims to combat the summer decline in academic engagement and ultimately close the achievement gap by providing an enrichment program for children in the Rochester City School District.
Horizons at MCC provides a unique combination of academic, social, cultural, wellness and recreational experiences in a nurturing, close-knit environment. Children with a range of academic abilities attend the full-day program and work on reading, math and other subjects; participate in swimming lessons to increase their confidence; and engage in other academic enrichment activities. Quality summer enrichment programs, like Horizons at MCC, are an essential component to the successful education of our next generation.
Monroe Community College is a two-year college of the State University of New York, located in Monroe County, New York. The college has two campuses, one in the town of Brighton and another, the Damon City Campus, in the City of Rochester.
