Sprouting Success

RCN hosted two classrooms focused on igniting children's passion for learning. At summerLEAP the children were provided the opportunity to explore, enhance their confidence, and celebrate their accomplishments. One of the favorite activities was planting seeds and observing their growth, as the children predicted how quickly they would sprout. Each day, the classroom buzzed with laughter and excitement. Seeds of knowledge were planted into each child as they transition into pre-school and kindergarten.

History

Rochester Childfirst Network (RCN) has been serving children 6 weeks to 12 years of age since 1857. Inclusion and advocacy are cornerstones at RCN and the agency continues to be a leader in advancing the quality of early care and education. In addition to childcare and preschool special education, RCN also provides Universal Pre-Kindergarten for three and four-year-olds during the school year. As an organization, RCN uses the Pyramid Model to promote social and emotional wellness of students and to provide targeted services to those who need additional support. In summer 2025, RCN hosted one EPK and one UPK classroom.
